Portable Offices

As the name suggests, our customer Portable Offices specialises in the manufacture of portable structures in a wide range of sizes and configurations. In line with their commitment to promoting sustainable and eco-friendly solutions, they made the decision to install a solar PV system with battery storage at their new office site in Derby. This installation not only reduces their own carbon footprint but also serves as a practical demonstration of what renewable energy can offer their customers. By showcasing live performance data from their own system, Portable Offices can provide a clear, real-world example of the benefits of solar energy, making it easier for customers to understand its value and impact. The system installed comprised 88 Longi, allblack 430W solar panels, mounted on a ballasted Van der Valk flat roof system, a robust and non-invasive solution ideal for flat roof installations. The array is managed by a combination of one 20kW three-phase Solax string inverter and two 10kW three-phase hybrid Solax inverters, ensuring efficient energy conversion and system flexibility. The hybrid inverters also control a total of 23.2kWh of battery storage, allowing excess solar energy to be stored and used during periods of low generation or peak demand. This setup not only maximises on-site energy use but also provides added resilience and long-term savings.
